Below, the results of last night’s time trials.

The key purpose of these was to give the coaching team information that will help us increase the swimmers’ endurance, which they will need as they move toward the Age Group squads. We also wanted to give the swimmers a taste of doing longer distances at a steady high speed. They all did really well.

The time trial showed us quite a few swimmers who like longer distances and may have a talent for it. (Very simplistically, if you can maintain a strong pace over increasing distance, you might eventually turn out to be a good distance or open-water swimmer.) More on this later.
