After due and careful consideration the Committee has reluctantly but prudently decided to increase monthly subscriptions by £3 for Dev 2 and Age Group swimmers with effect from the 1st February 2017.
Development Group 2 from £35 to £38
Age Group 1 from £42 to £45
Age Group 2 from £42 to £45
The decision has been taken in order to keep pace with increasing pool costs and continue to strengthen the Club’s financial base. You will recall from past AGMs , that our subscription income only just covers our normal operating costs of pool hire. We aspire over time to correct this as the club cannot continue to make a loss each year, hence this increase is in line with that strategy, and also recognises increased pool hire costs which we are as you know experiencing. Fees have not been increased since September 2015.
The committee have also been trying to encourage a member to take on a fundraising role to try and increase income, so far no one has come forward, if we could raise additional funds through sponsorship, grants and donations then the club would be in a much more secure financial position and further increases in subscriptions may be avoided. We need someone to step up to this role.
It has been decided to leave Development Group 1 subscriptions at the same level to reflect the pool time they have available. Similarly it has been decided to leave Masters at the same level to reflect the pool time available, that the masters sessions are ‘un coached’ and in an effort to support the Committee’s aim to increase membership at master level.
As ever the monthly subscriptions are due in advance on the 1st of each month, we have been very successful over the last 18 months in collecting and reducing arrears and in collecting fees by the deadlines, which of course is crucial for the cash flow of the Club, and so once again your cooperation in this will be very much appreciated.
If you are affected by the increase can you please contact your bank immediately and amend your standing order to take effect from the 1st February 2017. This will avoid the need for us to collect and chase any shortfalls in the February payments which is a thankless and time consuming task.
