If there is anyone that is seriously interested in training to be a qualified official then can you please speak to me at swimming tonight or email me at email@example.com as soon as possible as there are limited places. There is a free training course on the 19th March 2017 which is titled Judge Level 1 Intro.
This will cover an introduction to officiating at swimming galas explaining duties of level 1 Officials including timekeeping, Chief Timekeeper, Inspector of Turns and Chief Inspector of Turns. Discussing the FINA Rules of swimming. This session will be accepted as the ‘Group Workshop Session 1’ required by the ASA for all those wishing to become Level 1 Officials. Workbooks will be available for candidates not already signed up for the Level 1 course.
If this course is attended this will enable you to timekeep at licensed meets and also officiate as a J1 in training. This will be a great benefit to the club that currently only has one licensed official.
We have two people signed up already and a number of others are attending other sessions so lifts may be possible.
Sussex are again running a CPD training day on Sunday 19 March at Dorothy Stringer High School, Loder Road, Brighton BN1 6PZ.
The day will provide an opportunity for club volunteers, officials, coaches, teachers, committee members and parents to learn new skills, share good practice and gain qualifications that will help clubs develop in the future.
